For carbide parts with hardness less than HRA90, choose BNK30 material CBN tool for large margin turning, and the tool will not be broken or burned. Carbide parts with a hardness greater than HRA90 are generally ground using CDW025 PCD tools or resin-bonded diamond grinding wheels.

Machining tungsten carbide

When processing the crescent groove ribs of cemented carbide rollers, CDW025 diamond engraving and milling cutters (also known as flying cutters and rotary milling cutters) are used.

When machining precision parts of cemented carbide with grooves above R3, for those with large machining allowances, BNK30 material CBN tools are generally used for rough machining first, and then grinded with grinding wheels. For small machining allowances, you can grind directly with a grinding wheel, or use PC.

Generally, the higher the hardness, the brittle the material. When the cemented carbide is cut, the cut edge will "fall off or chip", causing the workpiece to be scrapped. Therefore, when processing the outer circle of the cemented carbide roll, either chamfering must be done in advance or using Accurately reserve fine grinding allowance to avoid this.
